Kathleen’s move to UCSF went smoothly sans the speed and sirens. The surgeon will be looking at her scans later today. The soonest they will be able to try for surgery will be Friday, but most likely not until next week. They will be running tests on her today, and over the next following days. She is a bit tired today from all the excitement. We wish her a comfortable day and hopes she gets much needed rest.

There is a bed open at UCSF Mount Zion and they are moving her at 7:00pm via ambulance. Katalina is hoping she can play with the siren and flashing lights.

Unfortunately, it does not look as if Kathleen is going to San Francisco tonight for surgery – however, you never know. It’s now a waiting game for a room to open up. Will post again in the morning, when hopefully there will be a gameplan.

I read her the comments posted on this blog so far, and she was so touched and appreciative. Thank you & keep them coming! Hopefully we can get her access to a laptop/internet soon in her room so she can correspond with you all directly!

Thank you for the organized effort to bring Kathleen some CD’s! That is super thoughtful! She has also expressed interest in “happy & light movies” for entertainment as well. Please make sure to put your name and phone number on the CD’s/DVD’s, so that we can get them back to you!!

UPDATE: 3/5 6:09pm – Just spoke w/ Kathleen & she says she has enough CD’s for now, but thank you!! She would love some funny movies to keep her entertained. Thanks everyone!

Just notified that Kathleen was scheduled go to UCSF today, but they do not have a room for her as of yet. They are also not sure which hospital they will be putting her in.

We’ve created this blog, so that we may provide timely updates on Kathleen’s cancer, surgery, and recovery. To update some of you, Kathleen, fondly known as “Katalina” at her school, has had an ongoing battle with bladder cancer. This rare cancer was removed last year in a partial bladder removal. Unfortunately, it has come back and she will need another partial bladder removal again. She also has a large mass on her ovary. It is unknown at this time what it is, however it is also scheduled to be removed.

We will be posting to this blog regularly, so please check back daily for updates.
