Home Sweet Om!

March 19th, 2007

Kathleen here: Howard drove me down the coast last night with Van Morrisson singing, “Oh, the water, oh, the water, oh, the water, let it run all over me…”

We arrived to beautiful chalk art and welcome signs on the sidewalk and driveway, a purple fairy doll floating amongst shells on our doorstep, get well cards to read, and fresh eggs from Ryan and his family in our fridge (which made for the tastiest breakfast this morning–gracias!). Our kitties seemed as surprised as us that we were finally home. Emma warmed up right away, Sophie is still deciding if she remembers me.

I slept 11 hours last night and didn’t miss the parade of nurses or docs to my bedside one bit. After a late breakfast, we stepped outside to take a short walk and ended up making it all the way to my friend Kim’s house for a surprise visit. The blue, blue sky, the white, white clouds, all the trees in bloom, everything so green and sweet smelling. I didn’t want to go back indoors except that after getting into the Lazy “Girl” I found no real reason or oomph to get out until dinner.

Thank you to Mariposa for bringing a delicious meal tonight. It feels wonderous to be eating again–brought to tears again. Home, Howard, family, friends, food, life! Yahoo!

Adelante, pues! On the healing path!

Lots of love,

Kathleen

Imagine my delight and surprise to open my front door this afternoon to the vision of Kathleen and Howard, beaming on my doorstep! All of you should know that she looks radiantly beautiful. She walked several blocks, and she was doing fine! I felt so honored to get that little visit – we’re so glad you’re home, dear Kathleen. May it all be smooth sailing from here on!

Joining in the chorus here to welcome you home, Kathleen, and back into the neighborhood. Today is the perfect day to stay all cozy with kitties and delicious soup. I am signing up for the soup parade. Just think about all those snails in the garden….how happy they are in this gentle rain….but not as happy as you are to be home I am sure. So tuck yourself inside that little house and enjoy all your friends bringing you surprises as you heal. Spring has been waiting for you to really show her stuff. Enjoy the lilac, cherry blossoms, new tulips, daffodils and all that emerges from here on out.

    love, ziggy

Welcome home carina!! Blessings blessings on your healing walk–that walk I still see you with lavender in your hair, children’s laughter in your glasses, cats on your shoulders, robes of flowers: yes, dressed en la vida and nothing is clinging.

What the surgeons don’t know: how well you know yourself and your cancer. I am inspired by how centered you are in navigating through western medicine.

Your poems are still ringing! My brave friend, such grace on your path! I have some C-insights to share, but not for the blog!. I would love to bring some lunch or dinner. Where can I sign up? I do have a one-for-one poem. No R2D2 bells this time, but do you have a gong?
    Quien te quiere mucho,
    Pamela

K&H, shall I phone Thursday morning to see what you’re hungry for? Unless you change it, the menu is veggie bisque (Trader Joe’s unless that’s too salty), roasted veggies, quinoa or brown rice. Would some fish sound good yet? Apples? What tempts you?

Hi Kathleen, so nice to know that all those prayers really work. Especailly after working at a store like Ave Maria. Sorry we aren’t closer so we could send you a meal. Since cooking isn’t Mike’s and my thing–thank heavens your mother feeds us from time to time. We are so happy that you are home and all I can do is smile thinking how much you appreciate being home and with all your parts too. Lots of hugs from Mike and I.
p.s. Dana was going to send you a special note not on the blog. In case it didn’t get to you–we talked to her yesterday to kid her about not being in jail again because of her “peace” activities. However she was very sick. Guess her 3rd grade kids gave her a bug. Anyway, I know she will be happy to get your good news.

hi, Kathleen!! this is tanya g typing to you, entering into the 21st century, complete with email capacity.

i had some words slip into my mind yesterday, just for you:

    ******

    what Flower is this…
    that steps with her Power
    that breathes with her Strength
    hour upon hour…?

    what Flower that blooms
    through class rooms
    full of potent motion,
    through hospital rooms
    filled with their potent potion

    what Flower makes friuts
    sends down tap Roots
    laughter reminds one…
    of the playing of lutes

    this Flower is Love
soft as wings of a dove
    gentle yet bright
    these wings take flight
    gathering the ferocious strength
    the breadth and length
    of Truth
    of Health and Healing
    of depth of feeling:
Delight and Joy and absolute CLEARING

    we needn’t ask
    what Flower is this…?

    *****

i would love to offer you a gentle foot rub, a head rub , a hand massage, whenever that feels possible and appropriate… love and hugs, yer sis-at-hearrt, tanya g

    Tanya got it all right.
The life we live is filled with odd things and though I shouldn’t, I will admit that I live on the crossroad of Western Dr., Echo St., and Flower St.
It is damn strange and truly right that we needn’t ask…
    “What flower is this…?”

Trying to dwindle away with little success, I remain
    with love,
    k

Hi Sweetie pie! There are so many people who want to feed you … in so many ways… What goes around, comes around. The meal brigade is expanding. I’ll send you an update as the last few folks get confirmed. Thanks to you for letting the generations of Jewish grandmothers living inside of me, find expression in coordinating food. Food is love. Love is food. You are love. Love is you. You are food. Food is you. Feel free to contact me should something need to change… not working? Need more? Less? Whatever… We aim to please and want to do EXACTLY as you wish! Con amor! Caitlin

    Kathleen,

So glad you’re home sweet home, been holding you and Howard and family and kitties in heart and light. Now I can picture you in town and soaking in Santa Cruz delights again. Slowly but surely….and Emeralds will delight when you bring your poem-self to group again. Hope to see you soon.

    Dear Kathleen,
I am relieved and delighted to know you’re home! You know how close I live, so please don’t hesitate to call if you have a need. (234-5266)
I have someone I firmly believe can help you in your healing process. He is a healer – he has rid many people of cancer, tumors, etc. without even touching them physically. He is a dear friend who suffered great health challenges – then learned how to not only heal himself, but others as well. A telephone call would make a difference. I know it sounds wild – and so it is – yet I know his “work” to be successful and real. Let me know if you want his number – just to ask questions, talk. I finally put two and two together and said, Oh my gosh, he could definitely help Kathleen! This is what he now does for a living – it is nothing less than miraculous, and the spiritual/his spirit leads his work.
    Meanwhile, all love and blessings,
    Maggie, Amelia, and Alex
