I’m Kathleen’s proud mother and I want to thank everyone for all of your wonderful help, your love and prayers for Kathleen. It is so consoling to hear such heartfelt praises for Kathleen. She is and always has been a very special person. I don’t know how to thank you enough for all of your support. Please keep the prayers and good thoughts coming. Thank you.

    Hi Kathleen,
We hope that you get into UCSF very soon and our prayers are with you. We will have our Murphys community pray for you, too. Last week we rented “The Illusionist” movie-we loved it and we have been to Vienna and in the actual concert hall where the actor performed his illusions. God bless you!

We wish Kathleen a speedy recovery from the surgery and will keep her in our prayers. We are a “Flowers Family” — Mateo loves being in her class now and his two big brothers also had such a wonderful experience being in Maestra Katalina’s class!

Geez, Kathleen, that’s the last time I believe you when I run into you at a restaurant you say you’re fine! (Just kidding here, of course you get to choose what to say to whom and when!)

I’m very sad to hear the latest developments and wish you an abundance of healing and love. My thoughts are with you. I’m happy to be asked for specific kinds of help and support.

Films: I’d recommend The Laughing Club of India, which is available on a DVD called “Full Frame Documentary Shorts Volume 1.” Netflix.com has it. Also Strangers in Good Company and Rivers and Tides, which are not particularly funny but are light/entertaining/peaceful movies.

    Much love,
    Emily (Zorea’s mom)

    Katalina,

You are the strongest woman I know. Your positive spirit will bring you through this next hurdle. When I think of you, I close my eyes and imagine that calm, centered space that you hold inside of yourself. Your rhythm is right and you will heal. As for movies, I laughed outloud at Little Miss Sunshine. I think you would enjoy it too.

    Love,
    Shannon, Aliah, and Juanito

The DVD I suggested last night that has The Laughing Club of India is on hold for me at the Santa Cruz Library. I can pick it up and get it to you–but where/how?

Ah, Kathleen, my father recently reminded me that Buddha said our tears are precious jewels…

and in light of our brief conversation two weeks ends ago, remember “sassy”. Yes, don’t forget sassiness!

A candle of healing blazes for you at Middlebar Monastery.

    Love,
    your writer-friend,

    Kim

Let us be grateful to people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. ___Marcel Proust

And you are a happiness-bringer, blossom-scatterer, dear Kathleen.

    Hey Kathleen,
Many good wishes and thoughts emanate from me. Know that a cancer journey is a journey filled with rocks in the road. Both you and I share a fiercesome spirit to crawl over all those rocks in the road.

Know that my spirit will support yours–go, girl. We both have awesome energy to conquer whatever faces us.

    Much love accompanies this message,
    Judy

Kathleen, you WERE there last night at Muse. Your niece did a beautiful job and some day soon I hope your poem will be posted here for me to save and others to think about.

I was sad once I got home from Muse, wishing you’d felt the love for you in the auditorium. But you’ll get lots of detailed descriptions probably. Picture silent prayers, hoots, and tears. What a circle of poets who we’re lucky enough to call friends!

Is it Wednesday yet? Wishing you bundles of patience, good nurses, and whatever it takes to sort out what’s in your heart.

    Abrazos,
    Susan
